About the Author
Paul Kendall
I'm the person who builds, writes, and maintains Name Almanac Made Easy. There's no editorial staff behind the byline on this site — when an article says "By Paul Kendall," that's a real name attached to real work, not a placeholder.
Background
I worked in the newspaper industry from 2001 to 2010. That job is where I learned to treat a number as a claim that needs a source, not a fact you get to assert — a habit that shows up directly in how the guides on this site are written. Every statistic in them is pulled from this site's own database of Social Security Administration birth records, not paraphrased from someone else's article.
Since 2010 I've worked as a screenwriter, based in the Los Angeles area for more than a decade. That work is where the pop-culture and naming-trend material on this site comes from — not as a casual outside observer, but from inside an industry that produces a meaningful share of the film and TV moments that visibly move baby name data.
Why I Built This Site
Most baby name sites either recycle the same generic, unsourced "top names" lists, or bury the useful information behind noisy design. Name Almanac Made Easy is built around one idea: every number should trace back to an actual government record, and every claim should be checkable against it using the site's own search and year-browser tools.
How to Reach Me
If you spot an error in a guide, or have a correction, I want to hear about it — see the Corrections Policy for how that works. General questions can go to citylinks4u@gmail.com.
