About Name Almanac Made Easy

Name Almanac Made Easy—N.A.M.E. for short—is an independently operated baby-name research tool based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It turns public annual U.S. Social Security Administration records into approachable rankings, searches, comparisons, and random-name discovery tools.

Our data and approach

The current library covers 1923 through 2025. Counts and rankings are derived from annual SSA records distributed through Data.gov. We preserve the source categories while adding search, comparison, saved-name, and audience-poll features.

Independence and funding

N.A.M.E. is not affiliated with the SSA or Data.gov. Advertising may help fund hosting and maintenance, but advertisers do not determine the data, rankings, or editorial conclusions.
